i have a difficult time with insects because they’re so creepy

There is no gardening without humility. Nature is constantly sending even its oldest scholars to the bottom of the class for some egregious blunder.

A wonderful image! The only insects that I don’t like are spiders. They just seem to appear when you least expect them to!

We use no pesticides in our garden. Lots of good bugs to take care of the bad ones.

The fine grasshopper isn’t creepy at all. 😉 In large numbers, they can be destructive. I used to see these every day, in the summer, on the farm.

good shot of the ‘hopper, but to my eye, it gets lost in the unfocused foreground.

I’m with Elaine on this one – just about anything but spiders. Well, and mosquitos. And chiggers. OK, I don’t much like creepy critters either.

Most insects are interesting and some are beautiful. There are about 40000 species of spider….but none of them are insects. They are Arachnids 😀

a very nice shot, Sherri. i think they are a problem when you see too many of them and start eating the young shoots and leaves.

I suppose it’s all a matter of perspective! I think we’re taught to be creeped out by insects and snakes and the like. I find them fascinating, amazing creatures – and I love this photo of a grasshopper!
