When I was twelve, I went hunting with my father and we shot a bird. He was laying there and something struck me. Why do we call this fun to kill this creature who was as happy as I was when I woke up this morning.

A beautiful composition together with the fence in the foreground and the birds free in the air.
I like those birds flying and the one on the wire.
This is just beautiful. I love the enormous sky and the birds flying . I like how the fence leads the eye to the barn and upward toward the birds. The quote is very thought provoking and perfect for the image.
I’ve always loved images with ‘big sky’. But there is a real power in the juxtaposition of that big, open sky to the manmade ‘trappings’ beneath. And what a powerful quote!
A wonderful sky with the birds. I love the composition.
Loads of sky only works when done right…. and you always do!
the birds in the sky tie nicely to your commentary. this is a well-done balck and white pastoral scene
A beautiful nicely-lit composition, Sherri. I’m happy to see no one is pointing a gun at those birds.
Très belle composition
I do so agree with your quote of the day. I like the contrasts in your picture with the main subject standing proud
I love big sky pics like this
Une superbe photo ! Très beau en B&w
Lovely composition , quite a dreaming atmosphere …
Beautiful light and tones captured in this shot!!
Great title! And a lovely shot!
My heart cries when I read and see this. I agree, why?
a wonderful composition of the barn and that great big sky Sherri… it would be ok if the bird was for your supper… but her father could have gone hunting by himself….peter:)
I like the “rule breaking” composition. Great quote.
i’m sorry, the picture is beautiful, but the quote made me cry
