Many people have sighed for the ‘good old days’ and regretted the ‘passing of the horse’, but today, when only those who like horses own them, it is a far better time for horses.

Ces chevaux quei mangens l’herbe dans la campagnes quelle vue.
Belle journée
Que c’est beau Sherri, superbe! Bise, bonne journée tout en douceur!
A beautiful and peaceful scene. I totally agree.
I love horses, and enjoy seeing them grazing peacefully. Lovely shot.
I agree it is better for horses now. A peaceful view here.
Well some more than others. The trouble with generalisations is there is always a fly in the ointment somewhere. Think of racehorses for example. While in the past heavy horses were work horses but they were treated well in general in order to get the best from them
This lovely and peaceful scené is beautifully photographed.
Nice treatment Sherri
A gorgeous image of the horses and countryside.
fine bucolic scene. you don’t see horses pulling wagons or plows anymore.
A beautiful rural scene with fine treatment.
Lovely picture.
A beautiful view of the horses in this verdant and tranquil pasture!!
This is a really beautiful image, Sherri! And a true statement… horses are expensive animals to feed and keep healthy – so you really gotta want them!
One of my favorite times of the day, Sherri, especially when I see horses out in the Dutch polder. And sad, but true, about what C.W. Anderson said.
A fine pastoral scene, sherri
yes, after having been in many car accidents, none of them my fault, i used to wish we could go back to horsies… but then i think of how ‘Tess of the D’urbervilles’ starts, with the accident that kills their horse… that story didn’t start well, and surely it didn’t end well…
oh but it’s a LOVELY picture!!
Splendid capture of the scene .
One of my main loves in life are horses. I was one of those horse-crazy little girls.
These days I’ve seen so much neglect and mistreatment of animals, including horses, just breaks my heart.
I keep trying to determine if this photo is an intended double exposure or maybe has a texture added. Doesn’t matter but has me looking pretty hard.
Beautful done
The days when horsepower was measured by the number of beasts lashed to your wagon and computing was determined by how fast you could scratch numbers with your pencil have a nostalgic attraction. But people forget this was also the time when you had to chop your own firewood, darn your own socks (because you could not afford new ones), and grow and can your own vegetables to avoid winter hunger.
