“Imagine a city where graffiti wasn’t illegal, a city where everybody could draw whatever they liked. Where every street was awash with a million colours and little phrases. Where standing at a bus stop was never boring. A city that felt like a party where everyone was invited; not just the estate agents and barons of big business. Imagine a city like that and stop leaning against the wall – it’s wet.”
— Banksy said that
Wow! What an eye-catching mural or Trompe-l’œil! At first I thought it was real until the shadow started to look painted on the wall. A great find! I hope I’m right. 🙂
That is fabulous.
A university near me (NC State) has a tunnel between two parts of the campus. It is called the “free speech tunnel.” Anyone is allowed to paint anything they want on the walls of the tunnel, Anything, of course, except profanity, hate speech, or anything racist, sexist, homophobic or that otherwise might hurt the feelings or sensibilities of anybody who might walk by or anyone who is worried about the feelings of anybody who might walk by, There have already been incidents of group A painting their message while group B follows behind, over-painting a new message.
Perhaps some paint from group B accidentally got sprayed on a Group A member. Perhaps a group A member stepped between the wall and the group B painter to protect his message. So soon the police have to untangle the situation.
Hooray for free speech and tolerance.
Oops – I forgot to mention I like the bicycle photo.
What a great image of texture and colors.
Perfect, Sherri! What a wonderful situation you captured and rendered here.
I am inclined to agree with Banksy…but not totally! This is an example of some really fine street art
excellent quote and a good image to go with it 🙂
Really beautiful in his simplicity
Excellent.
You have photographed a beautiful mural, I miss the brake cable in the shade.
I am a fan of Banksy. The world he describes could either be beautiful or chaotic. I like this art image.
Ce mur lézardé avec le vélo et son ombre et le squelette de poisson excellente composition
