To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place. I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.

Nicely done with that antique Singer sewing machine.
Your quote fits this post perfectly! What is simply a weathered surface was seen as a sky where birds occupy the space. And the green is ground to which the clothes line is grounded. Good to “see” you again.
Such a creative image, Sherri! And a wonderful quote!
wonderful image – super textures and tones. I remember your Elliott Erwitt quote from several years ago; I was stuck then by how closely that articulated my own philosophy.
A fine image. My niece was married at the Singer Mansion in Torquay which is now a registry office
Splendid creation ! … Yes really with the way you see things .
This is really wunderful together
So many things to notice and say about this uniquely created work of art.
I use that quote as one of my rotating email signatures.
For me, reading Shoe as your title immediately has me seeing the sewing machine as the nursery rhyme’s old lady living in a shoe, especially with the lovely laundry hanging across the archway and the birds on the wire. The peeling paint as clouds and below the texture and paint as the grass and grounds. So clever.
