There’s a river of darkness in my blood
And through every vein, I feel the flood
There is no bridge for me to cross
No way to bring back what is lost
Into the night it soon will sweep
Down where all my grievances I keep
But it won’t wash away the years
Or one single hard and bitter tear
– Emmylou Harris said that
What a beautiful image, Sherri! And terrific processing. The EmmyLou lyrics are great!
Quelle inondation ! Ce grand arbre est très beau.
so you are having a bit of a time down there! hope your homes are safe…
i wish that i could get back all the good things i’ve lost as well…
and get a transfusion for a river of light in my blood…
very moving post, sherri xoxox
I can relate to your picture in many ways today, sherri. So many people in the UK are flooded out, and we have had extensive floods from the river at the bottom of our hill. I am sorry if you are suffering in a similar way
Le pieds dans l’eau trop d’eau et ce marque sur le tronc elle baisse superbe
Belle soirée
That’s a striking image. I trust you had your wellies on 🙂 We had the most severe floods have ever seen in Ludlow courtesy of Storm Dennis in February. I have been processing the images today, to be posted at the end of March
To “hear” Emmylou Harris say these words, speaks to my soul, Sherri. We need to pay attention to the floods, lest they overwhelm us. Your image is brilliant.
£&$% there should of course be an ‘I’ after have
I mean before….sigh
Here are the dunes very wet
Beautiful image
Wow!! A composition that really emphasizes the impact of this flooding! One can see how high the waters once were!
An all too familiar sight in the UK this winter
Wonderful lyrics. I like how the tree trunks are sucking up the water. Nice shot.
it looks like you are hip deep in the swamp to take this fine photo
That looks like quite a flood. You can even see how much higher the water was. I hope that is is receding. The weather is definitely changing with more floods ravaging different areas. I really like the black and white.
Living on a river there is always a possibility. Fortunately I live on a high point. Both ends of my street have looked like this, but never where I live.
“There is a river of darkness ……….” a perfect start and pass by this beautiful dark looking river including forest photo.
Very beautiful photo !
oh gosh, I do hope you are not severely affected and are completely safe.
Black and white was an excellent choice.
La pluie est vraiment partout en cette période. Magnifique prise.
