War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.
John Stuart Mill said that
after watching a bit of news last night, we went out to fill up our gas tank and were taken by a pleasant surprise. our downtown was entirely lit up with their show of support.
A recognizable streetscape from previous posts and what a colorful, unmistakable show of support for Ukraine! An excellent PoV captured here.
Great to see and read
The show of support here from people has been amazing. We had a bucket collection at our monthly Lions book sale and one about 3 hours over £400 was donated.
I love seeing these gestures of support. The fact that people got together to do everything that was necessary for buying and putting up these lights is heartwarming. Lovely photo to have as a keepsake.
Oh this is so wonderful, Sherri! I just LOVE how the world is coming together to support Ukraine! I just wish someone would come up with a swift solution to end the violence.
I agree with and admire shows of outrage and support. But somehow I feel hollow fearing these will not stop or even deter the advances of the self-righteous and hypocritical aggressor.
I have no words, Sherri, when it comes to this war…this darkness. God have mercy.
Beautiful night shot combined with a thought provoking quote
Magnifique cette ambiance de nuit. Ton commentaire j’apprécie.
i love this atmosphere, with the flares and the specks, Sherri.
