Marcus Aurelius said, “Time is a sort of river of passing events, and strong is its current; no sooner is a thing brought to sight than it is swept by and another takes its place, and this too will be swept away.”
we’ve lost a lot today,
we’ll get it back tomorrow.
Great composition.
This is an unusual and very effective composition
Somewhere in Arkansas?
Nice columns, yourself today.
Did it ever occur to you that to those in the current nearby see you as the thing being swept away?
A beautiful image. I enjoy the grand view.
Excellent composition.
This is definitely the place where one can reflect on what’s passing by, Sherri. What a view!
A tranquil image and a mindful quote
I live on a river. This quote and view are so true. Yet, there is a peace that comes from the constant slow movement.
The lovely simplicity of this photo drew me in but that quote! I was just thinking about that earlier today. Not the quote, but the thought conveyed in the quote. It began with me thinking about how we have just completed another year yet what we had, experienced, observed, has all rolled on by yet we tend not to grasp it and hold any of it with us.
