i have quite a few relatives who can paint and/or draw. it’s in my head, but it won’t translate to my hand with a brush or pencil. it does, however, translate to my hand in drawing graphics. sigh…
Two of the most frustrated trades are dentists and photographers. Dentists because they want to be doctors, and photographers because they want to be painters.
— Pablo Picasso said that
I love that shot. It reminds me of a photo pf Churchill. Except he was painting a landscape.
I have a painting that my sister did when she was about 9. It floors me how good it is. I, on the other hand, can’t draw a stick person.
This painter has come well-prepared with the umbrella providing shade and protection. I love the sneak peek at what he’s painting. Great candid capture!
besides being a photographer, I am a painter. Last year, I did the family room in a periwinkle blue, with an artic snow ceiling. Some feel the north facing wall surpasses many of my photographs in beauty/
too funny : – )
I love this image, Sherri!
Art doesn’t have to be a painting or drawing…. (as Harry above describes… 🙂 ) There is nothing wrong with the kind of art you create… I’m sure y our relatives would tell you that you are a wonderful artist!
I really like the muted tones of this image, Sherri. I have always loved watercolor painting and knew if I ever tried something besides oil painting (which I did in high school), it would be that. I never did it throughout the years but now as a photographer, I use a watercolor app to manipulate some of my images for Watercolor Sunday on Facebook. It’s ended up being the best of both worlds for me. HA!
Magnifique composition. On peut je pense être photographe et peintre. Et si ce n’est pas le cas,
On ne peut pas être doué pour tout non plus ! ….
The portrait of that lady is timeless, sherri
you are great with graphics sister, and i have never had a desire to be a painter, tho i barely have a desire to be a photographer these days lol
There is something it what old Pablo said
nice plein air image
Quelle belle prise Sherri, c’est tout beau! Bise, bon mercredi tout doux!
A wonderful composition.
Picasso’s words are so true. WHat I enjoy most about ohotograpohy is editing! I like how you composed this image.
Mmm I sometimes wish I could draw…
Lovely picture

Quel parasol et vue et ce personnage avec le chapeau superbe
Belle soirée
i love this picture of the back of the painter Sherri….peter:)
Curious that the painter is looking inwards – just like mine a few days ago!
i know, right ?!
what’s up with that ?
they must have the best imaginations
A timeless photo in beautiful colors.
…and taking splendid photos !!!
I would be interested to see what she is painting! A great image! That quote by Picasso has a lot of truth to it.
and in photography, great shot
you and Picasso agree on that point I see. And you certainly have your talents too. Drawing graphics is a talent to be proud of.
