to me, they look as if they are tear stained. perhaps because it has officially become too hot for pansies and violas in arkansas and will remain that way until mid september when i hope to fill our flower beds with them for the winter months. nearly everyday this week it has reached temperatures into the 90℉ range.
Why do two colors, put one next to the other, sing? Can one really explain this? No.

Beautiful colors captured in these pansies!! I hope you’re able to stay cool! We’re finally starting to get warm temperatures here, but only in the high 70’s. Our Spring weather only arrived in May. 🙁
Flowers like these grew wild along the country roads around my Grandparents farm when I was a child. Probably more of a yellow than the orange in your photo. We called them “Johnny jump ups” and when the blooms turned into seed pods, we collected them and spread them further along the road.
The colors are just gorgeous! But yes, the poor pansies don’t do well in hot weather. Even up here in Maryland. A gorgeous image!
They are so beautiful. One thing about pasies is they are very tough. They survive weather extremes.
Well – I think it’s really lovely – and I love their colors!
Magnifiques couleurs, et jolies fleurs. J’aime beaucoup.
awwww, yes, they are crying that they are leaving the world… very pretty picture… i never did buy a lensbaby, even tho your pics are impressive

Sweet! Unusual and great colors.
I like the dew drop placed down on the petals
Deux belles pensées. J’aime ces couleurs
I adore pansy faces. They’re such happy and perky beings. Lovely photo of them. I’d call this a colour duet. I remember reading about them somewhere on the Internet. It was an artist, if I remember correctly, who first coined the term and then others began to use it, especially photographers.
So lovely I just scrolled up for another look — pretty faces.
