The first social distancing and face covering mandate was given by God in Leviticus 13:45-46 and it wasn’t a recommendation. It was a law.

A serene oasis as this river winds through your frame! Great reflections as well. Oh, if we only lived by law and not recommendation.

the overall brown tones fit this winter scene nicely. I like the gentle curve of the river and that lonely patch of snow near the left edge. Only that tiny strip of paved road or trail lets the viewer know that you are not miles from civilization.

Exactly the kind of image I have needed these last days to full up my soul, Sherri. Thank you. And yes, Leviticus 13:45-46 says it all!

oh, and that law was for lepers, not the entire PLANET, to go into lockdown and destroy the world’s economy and kill most of the people thru the law….

      consider this.

yes, that law was for leprosy, but the plague of leprosy was easily identifiable so the law kept only the leper at a social distance, wearing a face covering. the plague we face with COVID19 cannot be seen, so the precaution of social distancing and facial coverings must apply to all and by doing so we assume we are the carrier and thereby protect others by putting ourselves in the place of the leper.

however, we should be willing to go beyond the law and carry out the spirit of Philippians chapter two; in particular, “In lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.”

if social distancing and facial coverings had been implemented by all people, early in the outbreak, the spread would have been minimized and accordingly so would the financial loss been minimized. it would have contained this plague better until the vaccine could be fully administered.

lovely viewpoint and capture of this tranquil stream.
Interesting comment above. Hasn’t she noticed that the current economic model is destroying the world. Continuous growth on a finite planet is an impossibility, as the severe environmental repercussions we are facing from our profligate abuse of the world is forcefully pointing out.

Masking and social distancing, during a pandemic, is not a sacrifice. Anyone who thinks it is has never truly served their country. I would invite such people to put on the uniform and serve their country in a war zone. That is a sacrifice. – Steve said that. By the way, the individual who made masking a political issue has made history by getting impeached for the second time.

I love the image of this quiet river and the bit of snow.
