More in a garden grows,
than what the gardener sows.

i don’t know who said that first

our first heavy frost took the last of the garden; the pepper plants, during the night of 01 DEC 20. it left about 10 beautiful peppers lying on the ground that my husband harvested yesterday morning. i captured this image on 23 NOV 20.

Sorry to hear about the frost. Hopefully you’ll be able to enjoy some of these beauties! Great standouts against their verdant foliage.

Lovely rich colour capture. We have to grow our peppers and chillies indoors, under glass or in polytunnels here, but we had a good season while it lasted., which was until the beginning of November. I have a bag full of Scotch Bonnets in the freezer though for some winter warmth 🙂

Dommage , mais d’habitude le froid vient bien plutôt.
Et il faut du gel au jardin pour qu’il soit plus beau l’an prochain.
Jolies couleurs pour ce poivron que tu as réussi à récupérer.

your peppers shouldn’t have spoiled after the frost… but you will loose the leaves Sherri… you should have seen Penny’s tomato plants after our first frost in late October… the leaves were all looking to the ground but she the was able to save the fruit…peter:)

Beautiful shot from a good low point of view. Nice use of DoF to separate the peppers from the background. More in my garden grows, but it’s usually weeds. 😉

The first and the last fruit seem to be the tastiest. The most appreciated.
    A lovely shot.

the ripe red and nearly ripe red and white are delicious looking. the square device (air conditioner? furnace?) does not attractively fill that space between the plants

Gorgeous color and detail. This is just beautiful. It is sad to see the end of the season. Looking forward to a return next spring.

I always find that those unwanted hard frosts are received with such disappointment at what damage they have done. It’s almost like someone came in at night and trampled everything while the garden was still working ever so hard to produce a final harvest. I see that some little critter was helping itself to the greens.

Annoying and a shame about this frosty night, but luckily it produces a nice photo and your husband was able to harvest 10 of them.

oh the fall and winter make for such poignant, sad pictures of gardens… don’t you think? however, the picture is rich and beautiful, as always with you and your ways 🙂
