One of the ongoing projects of modern art, and probably its most serious is to tell what it’s really like to be living here now. Not what it’s like on television or in advertisements, not what it’s like to be a cohort, but what it’s like to be a man or a woman in that unique body that’s always living an odd life. Against the forces of false persuasion, the artist offers an undeniable sort of truth, stated in simple human terms, minus the jargon and the emblems of expertise and false authority. It’s always a voice and the voice always says: this is how it is for me, and I hope you understand.

at least you hope that’s the case, however I suspect there is more than a little of the emperors new clothes about
Wonderful image !
Beautiful artistic image of the tree’s half-blown foliage! Very creative!
Ah, but whose story is it? 🙂
A wonderful image and I love the quote.
I really like your graphic art work.
I love your graphics! And it’s a terrific statement!
When I hear a movie is “based on a true story.” I immediately assume a shred of actual happening surrounded by wild drama, fictional supporting characters and a neatly tied up happy ending. I hope your life is messier, happier, surrounded by real friends and leading to a satisfying conclusion.
This is a magnificent image. I love it. And the quote is so true.
The way you connect “vision and verb” is really quite amazing, Sherri!
You are the master of “letters”, sherri
‘based on a true story’ lol that’s cute… finding the truth in this life story, no matter how odd we are, is impossible… or so it seems..
i really like the design!
A nice presentation.
This graphic presentation is compelling.
Fantastique composition et imagination
belle soirée
Magnfique et jolie description.
A beautiful tree graphic.
The tree is marvelous–fun. The entire image works to cause me to pause and think. The quote expresses a view of art that I find refreshing. I want to think more about it.. Thanks for introducing me to John Rosenthal.
this is my life and it’s a true story as well Sherri… there were days of great joy… some days not so good… but most of all…
life is good….peter:)
