A beautiful view of the ocean. It looks a lot like that in winter.

the quote is true. Film creates a different tonal range — very nice image.

A very gentle photo. And yes, if you live by the sea, you would be so conscious of it always – you wouldn’t be able not to look at it!

I like the gentle soft tones and if you live by the sea, as I have, your thoughts are never far from the ever changing waves and sky.

A nicely-layered composition with windswept dunes in the foreground!! Living on the lake, I can definitely relate to your quote.

Que j’aime la mer, dommage, elle est tellement loin de chez moi, 10 heures de route pour s’y rendre… Bise, bon jeudi dans la joie et la tendresse!

I like the soft light and tones. I live on a river and I could apply that quote to the river also

I have never lived by the sea, and generally prefer mountains, but also love the sea when I get to visit. Waves are hypnotic to me.

I like the ‘antique film texture’ and the melancholy mood in your sea image!
And I like the fact that you quoted Hermann Broch – I grew up in the village next to the one where his father – and later he – owned and operated a textile mill. There is a statue of Hermann in the village square and a Hermann Broch museum in the municipality!! What a coincidence …

It is odd to think that many people have never seen the sea when you live on a small island like the UK

My consensus exactly, Sherri, and I don’t even live by the sea. However, it’s deep inside of me like some primordial instinct.
