i can’t believe we’re nearing summer’s end and the kids go back to school next week. whatever happened to a long summer break ? i suppose we don’t like those anymore.
sigh…
did you hear it ?
it was loud.
I’m convinced that every boy, in his heart, would rather steal second base than an automobile.

Thankfully, my summer continues without worries about school starting!! I love that quote! I hope in my heart that it is true!
As a kid, and again as a teacher summer was never long enough! Now the end of summer is rather nice.
I loved summer break as a kid. Looking back though, I think the breaks were too long. You forget so much. One of the many reasons places like Singapore are eating our lunch when it comes to K -12 education.
Not far into the school holidays here
I like the gritiness of this baseball image.
Superb atmosphere in this image . Here kids have about one month still on holydays …For me I am happy at the end of holydays !
The summer holidays are only a couple of weeks in here. Nice still life
Une très belle photo !! Ici en Belgique deux mois de vacances d’été ! Les enfants retournent à l’école le 3 septembre
Remembers a western movie.
I like the nostalgic feel. Where I live in NJ we do not go back to school until after Labor Day. WHere I am staying in TN, they began yesterday.
Quelle nostagie dans cette batte sueprbe vue.
Belle soirée
Here the summer lasts until the end of August, nice appropriate text and photo.
summer break, when I was school age, was the best time of the year. Maybe even better than Christmas and Christmas has always been a big deal for me — still is.
I really like this photo — the simplicity of it; it makes the viewer consider.
That quote of Tom Clark’s … I’d love if that were true for every single boy, though who’s to say it’s not.
Pas encore terminé ici….. 🙂
How can it be summer’s end, when baseball season has two months to run yet? Oh wait, football starts this week, so maybe it IS fall. I’m so confused, but I like your photo to illustrate your quite.
whoa, what was loud? the summer ending? love this picture, it makes it all so sad.
Another wonderful post…. you have a knack for giving seemingly insignificant things – great significance… with your images alone!
I heard your sigh 😉
Life has gotten too rushed. I can remember long summer days as a child and it seemed to go on forever. Now in some places with school year around, there is not long summer break anymore. This image really says what summer is all about.
