like eyes

like eyes

Of all the ruinous and desolate places my uncle had ever beheld, this was the most so. There was a huge fire-place in the room into which they walked, and the chimney was blackened with smoke; but no warm blaze lighted it up now. The white feathery dust of burnt wood was still strewed over the hearth, but the stove was cold, and all was dark and gloomy.
— Charles Dickens said that

the heavily mid-tone grays amplify the deteriorated condition of the industrial looking wall.

This made me think of the expression that “The eyes are the windows to the soul.” Some say Shakespeare said that.

It looks like someone tried renovation and paint but stopped suddenly. It is desolate.

Pickwick Papers. I really must read Dickens one of these days. I always preferred Wilkie Collins

Somehow I find beauty in abandoned places. I imagine stories of lives once lived there. There is a bright and textured appeal here.

For me, the paint splatters really bring the composition together, I really like your processing!

Cool shades of grey and interesting details around these windows. They do say that windows are the eyes to the world!

I often think that of two windows side by side like this. I love your composition, Sherri!
