Those who live by the sea can hardly form a single thought of which the sea would not be part.

Hermann Broch said that

hmmmm… maybe if you lived right on the beach, but put a line of trees between and it’s out of sight, out of mind lol
lovely picture though, would be a great place to live!

I was brought up not far from the sea and during lockdown not being able to visit the coast has been one of the things I miss most. The sound and smell of the sea has a particular magic

An ominous sky that hovers over the beach until it clears and welcomes the beachgoers once again. This brings back memories of what our industrial lakeshore looked like along Lake Michigan back in the 1970’s. Thankfully most of the overhead power lines have been relocated and most will be converted to open space.

That Hermann Broch was on to something!
How lovely to see a film image.
I’m surprised to see power lines; no doubt it was quite some time ago. Some people aren’t fond of the low lying or grey skies but I like them all.

I think that the author was right. I have always wished that I lived near the ocean. The view and the mood is ever changing. A wonderful image.

A pretty sea and sand dunes. The cloudy sky is just part of the bargain as you know. It’s that way out here, too.

Nice soft tonal range with the sand qualities echoing the sea. the coast is certainly a constantly refreshed canvas

Superb photo . I lived all my chidhood near the sea in Brittany then all my adult life near the sea in Morocco and now that I live near Paris . whenever I could see the sea before the lockdown immediately everything calmed down and I was home

Beautiful and peaceful view. I live on a river, and the words apply to us also.

This makes such a simply lovely image! After spending a week on the Pacific Coast – I understand the quote!

It does look like a winter-scape, Sherri. You can fool some of the people some of the time? 🙂
